May 2003 see the end of all wars-forever! Today, WWII vets, members of the Greatest Generation, are crossing the bar at the accelerated rate of 1800 per day. 11/09/02 at 01:47 - England Dear Laurent, I run a website on RAF Greenham Common in the UK. It was from Greenham that some of the first men of the 101st Airborne were dropped into Normandy. 09/08/02 at 21:52 - USA Very Nice Webb site, My brother and I are Twins We joined the Army in March 1940 and went onto the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Benning GA. After D-Day in North Africa, then again in Sicily ,We were in the 2nd wave at ( Omaha )June 6th. I'm ( Henry D Bowles ) and my Brother is (Thomas E Bowles ) We were in Czechoslovakia V-E Day when the War ended.We are 80 years old now and both retired electricians and live in Florence Alabama.

08/30/02 at 23:37 - USA I served on board the U.S.S.Quincy ca71 during the invasion of Normandy and southern France. It was somthing that we all had to do to defeat Hitler and the nazi regime. If it wasn't for the help of the French freedom fighters we would have had a more difficult time. Thank God it all came out where we defeated Hitler and his crazy followers. Bob Winsjansen

08/30/02 at 11:07 - USA I was in the U.S. Navy before and during WWII. I was in the Pacific War. The National D-Day Memorial is located 30 miles East of Roanoke, Virginia. If you haven't seen it, it is a wonderful place. Sgt. Robert Slaughter a D-Day soldier made his dream of a National D-Day Memorial come true. Bob is from Roanoke, Va. 08/02/02 at 18:08 - USA It is quite a pleasure to have your web site about D-Day im my possession. My dad was a D-Day veteran (Omaha Beach). He was part of the 293st Joint Assault Signal Company, part of the Army's 6th Special Engineer Brigade but because of high casualities that morning, his unity was drafted and attached to the 116 Regiment, part of the 29th Infantry for combat. I am very glad you found it because you have brought pictures of Omaha Beach to me that I could only imagine in my thoughts. Your beautiful work brought tears to my eyes. Take care and God bless you! He served with the 101st airborne throughout D-Day and into The Battle of Bulge.
