SIMMS JACK R - 29TH INFANTRY DIVISION
CPL Simms was my great uncle. He was denied enlistment twice before he stuffed himself with bananas in order to gain enough weight to join. He was allowed enlistment on the third try. He didn't want to be left behind. His brother joined the 29th as well and made it home safely.

MIGGINS FRANCIS E - 1ST INFANTRY DIVISION
My grandfather. He was an amazing man. He was wounded in Belgium in October of 1944 when a German artillery shell landed in front of him. He almost lost his leg. He would walk with a limp for the rest of his life. He was a true hero.

BUNCIK AUGUST B - USS LCI(L)-94
On November 1st, 2017, I visited the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach. It was very moving to see the lines of white crosses. I had the honor to place a Coast Guard Flag and render a salute at the grave site of this fallen Coast Guardsman. With many thanks for your sacrifice. CWO4 Terry Manning
